Community Engagement Groups Announced

Water Polo Victoria (WPV) would like to announce that we will be holding Community Engagement Groups in the areas of Pathway Development and Strategic Planning.

We welcome Life Members and Club delegates to be involved as part of the ongoing enhancement of the Sport.

Delegates do not need to be Club Committee Members however are encouraged to be representative of the broad cross-section of Clubs and wide view of the Sport. At this stage there will be no limitation on the number of proposed delegates. Nominations are requested to be lodged via return email by COB Monday 16th March 2020.

Initial meetings for these groups have been arranged with Water Polo Australia (WPA) personnel for next week at Melbourne Sport & Aquatic Centre (MSAC) as listed below. Future meetings will be determined by the individual groups.

Pathways Development Workshop

Initial Meeting

Thursday 19 March 2020

7:30pm - 9:30pm

MSAC

Overview

This workshop will explore development pathways for athletes, referees, coaches and team officials at Club, State and National levels. The format of the initial meeting will be an open forum and will be attended by WPA High Performance Manager (Alek Osadchuk) and National Pathways Manager (Nicola Johnson). It is intended that after the forum a Focus Group will be established to assist WPV in creating a framework and implement programs.

Strategic Planning Forum

Initial Meeting

Saturday 21 March 2020

3:00pm - 5:30pm

MSAC

Overview

This forum will be led by Richard McInnes (WPA Executive Officer) with support of Suzuki Consulting and will provide an opportunity for input to the development of a new WPV Strategic Plan that is nationally aligned with WPA. The developed plan will have significant impact on the Sport throughout Australia and deliver direction for the WPV Board and Management over the next four years (2020-2024). It is imperative for all Clubs to be well represented at this workshop in order to capture the broad range of community insights and form a platform for stakeholders to work collaboratively in the future.

The process will include the appointment of Steering Committees at both State and National levels, an opportunity for feedback by all members of the draft plan, and final ratification of WPV Board prior to implementation.

For your information, find attached an Information Pack and proposed Terms of Reference (TOR) for Steering Committees that will support the ongoing process.
