About Us
Established in 1927, Water Polo Victoria (WPV) is the state governing body for the sport of water polo in Victoria. It is charged with the development and education of water polo players, officials, coaches and volunteers throughout Victoria and with the conduct of competitions and championships for all levels of participation, interdependently with its Members and others.
Water Polo offers the opportunity for participants aged six years old to masters to enjoy Australia’s favorite aquatics team sport. There are thousands of water polo competitions taking place right around the country.
The sport is governed by a conference of clubs which elects nine Directors to the WPV Board. In addition to these nine Directors, there are three appointed executives. The executives direct the day-to-day activities varying from Competitions to Development of its Members.
The mission of Water Polo Victoria is to operate and govern the sport of water polo in Victoria and enable its affiliated clubs to perform as community clubs to their best capability in an inclusive environment. Our vision is to secure the future of the Sport of Water Polo in the state of Victoria through a balanced focus on participation for fun and pathways for performance.
Water Polo Victoria’s strategic direction is overseen by the WPV Board. The Board has developed a Strategic Plan that guides the long time vision for the sport.
