In June 2015, Sports Australia published its 'Mandatory Sports Governance Principles' setting out a range of governance principles across Structure, Board Composition and Operation and Sport Transparency, Reporting and Integrity. This was followed in June 2016 by the publication of 'Governance Reform in Sport' which developed the themes in the Mandatory Sports Governance Principles as part of the 'Next Generation Reform'.
After community consultation, the proposed Constitution of WPV reflects the relevant Mandatory Sports Governance Principles and ensures it is fit for the organisation in 2018 and beyond. The proposed constitution will also assist WPV to deal with Government organisations and apply for and receive Government grants or program assistance. You will note the look and feel of the document has also been changed to make for easier reading.
The amendments to the WPV constitution will be voted on at the AGM by special majority.
