Water Polo Victoria was thrilled to host the inaugural WPV Regional Gala in Ballarat this last weekend, 30th to 31st of May. Over 150 athletes, coaches, officials and supporters attended Ballarat, with a total of 9 teams and players from 11 different clubs represented. The event was an opportunity to gather teams from across Victoria, socialise and play some competitive Water Polo.

Across two days of Water Polo we saw some great matches, strong performances and improvement from all teams. There was a great atmosphere in both the pool and stands at Ballarat Aquatic and Leisure Centre, and we are thankful to all participants for what was an awesome weekend. A special thanks to City of Ballarat for their support in running the event.
We had the opportunity to gather together on Saturday evening for a night of fun and was excellent to connect with so many teams and players for a fun night.

Congratulations to tournament winners NYP Dragons/Wodonga who took out the Women's gold medal match against a spirited Monash/La Trobe team 10 - 4. In the Men's division, a strong Albury Tigers team just pipped the Monash team who put up a massive fight, the end score being 11-10 in favour of Albury.
Congratulations to Grand Final MVP's Keira Bates (NYP/Wodonga) and Koebe Nay (Monash) for having the strongest performance in their respective finals, and finally a big thanks to all teams and participants for making this weekend such a special one!
We look forward to the 2027 edition!
