The Water Polo Victoria 2025 AGM was held on Monday night at MSAC with a great representation of Clubs, Life Members and Board Members, both in person and online.
The majority of the directors elected at the 2024 AGM continue their service as they enter the second year of their two-year tenures. This provides continued stability on the board, as well as a platform to build and grow the sport together. Kai-Yang Goh was re-elected and will continue to serve with the team, whilst we also had a new member of the community nominate to join our board and we would like to formally welcome Indy Nay. We look forward to what Indy will bring to the group, and we can't wait to get planning for a big few years ahead.

The CEO and President reports highlighted some of the great achievements that we have had over the 24/25 FY, both in and out of the water. We were pleased to see our highest recorded membership year since we started utilising RevolutioniseSport in 2018. We had strong team entries across all our competitions and introduced our Senior Summer Splash, junior FlippaBall and Term 2 Social programs to the calendar. We were also thrilled to support multiple clubs with funding, resources and marketing for their own excellent initiatives throughout the year, and we want to continue to support our clubs do what they do best within their communities.

Whilst there were many positive steps, we also acknowledge there are several areas of focus for us in the coming years. Participation and representation of Women & Girls in Victorian Water Polo remains a top priority, increasing our pool of supported referees, coaches and volunteers will be key, as well as investing more grant funding into club education and capacity building. We look forward to working together with our entire community to make this sport all it can be in Victoria.
This AGM also provides an opportunity to award our Volunteer of the Year awards in both the junior and senior programs. Each nominee for Volunteer of the Year was acknowledged at the meeting and will be featured in a standalone news story next week, with the winners receiving their trophies on Saturday the 6th of December at the WPV Summer State League Grand Finals.
With 7 positions filled the board has 2 vacancies which will be discussed at the first Board Meeting along with the election of the Board positions in a couple of weeks' time. If you would like to know more about these roles, please contact CEO Regan Longfield ceo@vicwaterpolo.com.au
The AGM as always provided an opportunity for Water Polo Victoria to present our 2024/2025 Annual Report which can be found via this link here.
The Water Polo Victoria Board and Staff thank everyone in our community for another great year and we are looking forward to the next 12 months of continued growth and success both in and out of the pool.
See you poolside
