Melbourne Collegians and NYP Dragons claim the inaugural Victoria Cup
Melbourne Collegians and NYP Dragons were the inaugural recipients of the Victoria Cup on Saturday 9 December as premiers for the 2017 Water Polo Victoria State Championship State League One men's and women's divisions respectively.
Based off the engravings of the previous SL1 men's trophy, the Victoria Cup is potentially the first SL1 trophy awarded in 23 years.
Saturday also saw the presentation of the inaugural Scarlet Blaze MVP award to State League One athletes Genevieve Venosta and Jeff Disken, who both received a red water polo robe as first time recipients.
Both the Victoria Cup and the Scarlet Blaze MVP were presented at the Water Polo Finals Function, held at the George Hotel in South Melbourne.
