2018 Victorian Water Polo Primary Schools Competition
Over 165 students from more than 26 regional and metropolitan schools attended the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre on Wednesday 14 November to compete in the 2018 VWPPSC.
The 2018 competition broke a lot of new ground this year with the inclusion of the first boys division, participation by the first state primary school students, and participation by the first regional primary school teams which traveled from Geelong.
In the girls division it was Loreto Mandeville Hall Toorak who took out first and second place, with Lauriston Girls' School taking out third place. Over in the boys, Trinity Grammar were the inaugural premiers, while Northern Schools took out second and Scotch College claimed third place.
The MVPs for the tournament were Hannah Saadie (Loreto) in the girls division and Kye McSweeny (Northern Schools) in the boys division.
Thank you to our tournament referees David Smyth, Steve Wight and Cade Logan who refereed every match on the day, and to Harry Molnar, Matthew Weinman, Kai-Yang Goh, Kai-Xing Goh, Marni Jacka, and Michaela Waaka for table officiating throughout the day.
Congratulations to all the winners and students who participated. We look forward to seeing you again next year at the 2019 Victorian Water Polo Primary Schools Competition!
