August is behind us, and with September we welcome Spring! We had another busy month of competitions, events and organisation updates at Water Polo Victoria
A new WPV Membership Year 25/26 is here!
We have now officially rolled over and have begun a new membership year! During a huge 25-26 season we will have our Senior Summer competition continuing, Junior Summer Competition, Senior Summer Splash, Social Programs for both adults and juniors, high-performance programs such as Academy and our State Squads, gala and weekend events, Flippa Ball, Victoria Countries and engagement with WPA competition such as AYC and the Australian Water Polo League.
There really is something for everyone during the 25-26 season, so make sure to register with your club as soon as possible.
Competitions in full swing
August is a busy month for WPV in the competition space, with both our senior and junior competition running, along with school competitions such as AGSV, APS and GSV. There has been lots of polo being played across multiple venues, and our referees have also been helping support those school competitions.
We are approaching the mid-way point of our senior competition, and we wish every team good luck as we head towards the WPV Grand Final in early December!
Water Polo Australia - Strategic Plan
Water Polo Australia launched its new Strategic Plan, 2032+ Powered by Purpose. WPV was pleased to host WPA staff and directors in August as they launched the strategy to our club leaders, partner organisations and other stakeholders.
The new strategy takes an exciting approach to growing the sport and empowering all our people toward the Brisbane 2032 Olympics and beyond! Water Polo Victoria will also undertake our own Strategic Plan re-fresh in the coming months to better align with the national plan.
Shout-out to our Referees!
A special shout-out to all our referees who take up the whistle and help officiate such a difficult game. We are pleased to have so many junior referees interested in developing their skills as referees, and we always are looking for more referees to help mentor and support those who are developing with us.
We remind all clubs and players to Think, Act, Play when participating in Water Polo, and respect our referees at all times!
Welcome Chloe Lim
We welcomed Chloe Lim to the WPV staff as our new Administration & Development Officer. In her role, Chloe will be driving our participation growth, supporting our clubs through capacity building and working with the team to help strengthen the sport of Water Polo in Victoria.
Welcome Chloe!
