Learn to Water Polo makes a splash at Aligned Leisure
Water Polo Victorias 'Learn to Water Polo' (LTWP) has successfully concluded at Aligned Leisure Centres! Aquatic facilities at Caulfield and Eltham played host to 20+ enthusiastic kids over the last 5 weeks, as they worked towards their Swim & Survive certificates whilst learning to play Water Polo!

The LTWP pilot program looked to create a tangible pathway for kids transitioning through, or out of, Learn to Swim and keeping them in the aquatic environment through Water Polo. We saw all participants develop their Water Safety knowledge, swimming competency and Water Polo skills and ability throughout the length of the program.

"Watching these kids dive into Water Polo for the first time was truly special. In just 5 sessions, witnessing their journey from novices to confident players, understanding the game's rules and embracing water safety, was incredibly rewarding." Isabelle, LTWP Program Coordinator
In partnership with Aligned Leisure, Water Polo Victoria seek to provide a greater number of Water Polo opportunities at aquatic facilities in and around Melbourne. We view the Learn to Water Polo program pilot as a positive step forward in creating tangible links between Learn to Swim and Water Polo. The relationship between WPV and Aligned Leisure presents some great opportunities as we head into 2024.

"Together, we've crafted a pathway designed to empower children in our community, offering not only foundational Water Polo skills but also incorporating testing against the Victorian Water Safety Certificate. It's a collaborative effort that ensures our young participants not only thrive in Water Polo but also develop a robust foundation in water safety for a lifelong love of aquatic activities" Lisa, Aligned Leisure.

Thank you to all the participants for being a part of the first Learn to Water Polo program, we look forward to pursuing similar opportunities in 2024!
