State Coaches Announcement




Water Polo Victoria is proud to announce the following appointments for the u13s, u15s and u17s State Programs. These selections were made based on EOI's received and in consultation with Water Polo Victoria's High Performance Manager.


These programs will all commence in Term 2 with more information sent to all athletes who completed EOI's next week.


U13s Girls (2 teams)

Chloe Lim

Mel Di Donato

Assistant coach TBC


Chloe and Mel are excited to lead the girls again having enjoyed being involved in the program last year. They are looking forward to advancing the work that was done last year to continue to provide these athletes with an enjoyable experience and an opportunity to develop as athletes.


U13 Boys (2 teams)

Matt Wightman

Elih Mutsch

Patrick Healy (Assistant Coach)


Matt Wightman is looking forward to working with this group again having coached the u13s boys last year also. He is joined by Elih Mutsch who is currently coaching our development program and Patrick Healy who is looking forward to being involved in the State pathway as a coach having been through the process as a player.


U15 Girls

Chloe Lim

Chloe is enthusiastic to be provided the opportunity to develop her skills as a coach with the u15 girls as well as continue to develop athletes she has worked with throughout the u13s and the academy programs.


U15 Boys

Matthew Lea

Assistant coach TBC


Matt has been involved with waterpolo for the last 30 years and has developed a wealth of knowledge and experience as a player, coach, referee and administrator and therefore is not a stranger to many. Matt is eager to lead this group through their next phase of development.


U17s Girls

Millie Pullyblank

Assistant Coach TBC


Millie coached the under 17s Victorian girls squad last year and seeing great development in them and further development in the final team, she is eager to see what improvements can be made with a fresh squad and knowledge that she gained through her experiences with the previous group.


U17 Boys

Rowan Bennett

Assistant Coach TBC


Rowan was the coach of the u19s boys team last year who fought for a medal at the championships in Perth. He is also assistant coach of the Victorian Phoenix AWL Men's Team. He is looking forward to working with the next generation of athletes and ensuring they have the skills necessary to succeed in and out of the pool.


Water Polo Victoria are currently talking to a number of coaches about the vacant assistant coach roles and will announce these positions once they are filled.
