We are all wrapped up after an amazing weekend in Albury/Wodonga for the 2026 Victorian Country Championships!
22 teams took to the water from Feb 6th-8th for the tournament, creating an amazing atmosphere across both venues, whilst competition throughout the tournament was fierce, with some nail-bitingly close matches.
The Albury Sharks Women’s team earned a three-peat, clinching the Grand Final against a tough Pool Pirates side. It went down to the last seconds of the match, with the final score ending 6-5 to the sharks. Over in the Men's Division, the Northside Stingrays capped off a strong tournament with a solid 13-5 win over the Albury Tigers, ensuring their name is etched on the 2026 shield.

Individual brilliance was also on display all throughout the tournament, with Jeff Disken of Ballarat earning the Men’s MVP award for his exceptional goal scoring, power and leadership throughout the tournament. On the Women’s side, Emily Harvey of Northside Stingrays was named MVP, a fitting recognition of her outstanding contributions throughout the weekend.
We are incredibly proud of all the athletes who participated in such a successful tournament.

In the coming weeks, the Vic Countries team will be announced, representing the region at the 2026 Australian Country Championships. We can’t wait to see our team take to the national stage and continue to make Victoria proud.
