Dive Into the 2026 Victorian Country Championships, which is back on the border for another bumper year!
It's finally here: the 2026 Victorian Country Water Polo Championships! Teams from all around regional Victoria will gather at Wodonga Waves and the Albury Swim Centre from February 6 to 8 for a weekend of intense competition and communal celebration. The top water polo players from around regional Victoria will come together and compete in this tournament, and we look forward to some great matches!
We can expect exciting matches in both the men's and women's divisions as over 20 teams compete, including teams from Bendigo, Ballarat, Wodonga, Albury, Geelong, Wagga and the Surf Coast. We can't wait to watch some quality Polo this weekend!
You can tune in to both pools on the final day of competition to watch the action on live stream! Links are here: Watch Vic Countries 2026
Australian Country Championships
This tournament also acts as a selection event for the Australian Country Championships taking place in Ballarat during early May 2026. The WPV selection committee, headed by Performance Pathways Manager Rowie Webster, have been pleased with the level of interest from coaches wanting to lead our VIC teams.
After review of multiple candidates, WPV is pleased to announce our coaching teams for the Australian Country Championships! Our VIC women's team will be coached by Perri Randall, with support from team manager Jenny Farrington. Perri returns after a successful 2025 Aus Countries campaign on the Gold Coast, and we know her and Jenny will do an excellent job.
Our VIC men's team will be coached by Byron Pitman, with current Vic Phoenix Head Coach Rowan Bennett acting as an assistant coach and mentor. Both coaches bring experience and passion to the role, and we can't wait to see how the men's team do in 2026.
Congratulations to all selected to be on the coaching team, and best of luck to those who nominated to be considered for selection in the VIC Countries team.

Thanks, and follow along!
This year's event is hosted in conjunction with Ovens & Murray Water Polo, and we want to thank for them for all the work they have put in for this event! Make sure to also secure your tickets to the Saturday night social event: click here!
This tournament would not have been achieved without the help of the staff, volunteers, referees, and tournament officials, who also deserve special acknowledgement. We also extend our thanks to the City of Wodonga for supporting this tournament.
We hope to see many spectators at the event this weekend! Let’s cheer positively, respect all officials, and embody the “Think, Act, Play” values that define our community.
Follow Water Polo Victoria for updates and live results throughout the tournament. Good luck to all teams—see you poolside for a great championship weekend!

Great event. Where would you find the draw. As an interested spectator I would like to work out who was playing, when they are playing and which venue. Thanks.
