Water Polo Victoria Chief Executive Officer

As the Victorian Water Polo community is aware, Simon Devine (Water Polo Victoria CEO) has tendered his resignation and will depart at the end of the month. The WPV Board has commenced what will be a robust and rigorous recruitment process to identify our next CEO, and appreciate that finding a capable and credible leader for the organisation is our number one priority at this time.

The WPV Board is happy to announce that Regan Longfield has accepted the role of Acting CEO for Water Polo Victoria during the period from 2nd December 2024 to 30th April 2025. Regan has been working with Water Polo Victoria for over 2 years as the State Development Officer, and many within the community would have engaged with Regan through various programs.

Regan is excited to take on the role for the next 5 months sharing his thoughts on the opportunity, "I have been working in sports management for almost 10 years and have a strong passion for the industry. When joining Water Polo Victoria in 2022, I was attracted to the challenge of being a part of a sport with huge growth potential following on from some difficult years due to COVID. I have found the Water Polo community to be extremely welcoming and engaged, and I am excited to continue the great work already underway at Water Polo Victoria. I look forward to working with everyone within the community to amplify our programs, support our clubs and athletes, and grow this great sport here in Victoria".

Regan has been the driver behind many of the new initiatives that WPV has delivered over that time and has strong working relationships with our key stakeholders and partners, both in Victoria and across the country. His interim appointment has the strong support of Water Polo Australia, and we are confident that he is providing a safe set of hands for us to continue our momentum and ensure that WPV has a solid start to 2025.
