Water Polo Victoria support MOVE Moonee Valley's Access All Abilities Swim & Social Program

Over the last few months, WPV have been supporting the team at MOVE Moonee Valley to deliver the Access All Abilities (AAA) Program, taking place at Ascot Vale Leisure Centre and Keilor East Leisure Centre. AAA is a free Swim and Social program, engaging people of all abilities in the water, followed by a chance to meet and socialise over a hot drink afterwards.

AAA has offered aquatic activities tailored to people of all abilities, including (but not limited to) people with low vision, limited mobility, Multiple Sclerosis, as well as

participants from CALD communities. The program has had a rotating focus on Water Safety, Aquacise and Water Polo/Water Sports, enabling participants and carers to engage in the program in a fun and tangible way.

Participants have been able to utilize Water Polo equipment and training resources to build upon key swimming competencies, whilst developing core Water Polo skills such as passing, shooting and moving with the ball. Ultimately, the program is all about having fun and providing more accessible opportunities for participants to be involved in aquatic activity and sport.

The program has been a huge hit, with over 120 total participations across the entire program, with around 40 participations for Water Sports and Water Polo.
