2020 International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics (IGLA) Championships, Melbourne


In February 2020, Melbourne Surge will be hosting the International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics (IGLA) Championships at MSAC in Melbourne

IGLA is the world’s foremost international organisation solely devoted to developing and promoting gay and lesbian swimming, water polo, diving, and synchronised swimming.

Each year IGLA sanctions an International Aquatics Sports Championships in a different international city, with one in every four years coinciding with the Gay Games

Details for the water polo competition are:

· Friday 21 Feb 2019 1:00pm - 9:45pm

· Saturday 22 Feb 2019 5:30pm - 7:45pm

· Sunday 23 Feb 2019 8:30am - 4:00pm

· Tuesday 25 Feb 2019 1:00pm - 4:00pm

On 21-22 February there will likely be 3 fields of play and then 2 fields on 23-25 February.

Fits two referees per field.

We are looking at paying those who can help us referee $22 per hour and supply lunch.

Melbourne Surge expects up to 18 teams to participate in the water polo competition and has asked WPV to assist in finding referees for the event.

Surge are looking to roster 2 referees per game and paying those who can help $22.00 per hour and lunch/meal will be provided
